Summary
We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Systems Analyst. This position is responsible for supporting projects in the Manufacturing IT project portfolio and for delivering value for Manufacturing Operations function at Perdue. The Manufacturing Systems Analyst will lead a broad spectrum of scope and technology including Inventory Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, Labeling Systems, HMI/SCADA systems, OT security platform, and “Industrial Internet of Things” technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to support high impact projects and work in multiple Operational Technologies.
This position will support manufacturing systems projects from start to finish, which includes:
- Assists in formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.
- Assists in preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
- Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs.
- Evaluating technical solutions, contributing vendor comparison matrixes, and making solution recommendations.
- Learning new technologies as required.
- Develop process documentation such as functional and technical design documents, data flow diagrams, network diagrams, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, training documentation and other documentation as required.
- Competent to work on some phases of application systems analysis and programming activities but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.
This is a remote position. Eastern or central time zones preferred.
The salary range for this position is $73,000 - $109,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Works with the business units, plants and Company functional groups to fully understand functional & technical requirements
2. Translates the requirements for system function to detailed program designs using the Systems Development Methodology (SDM) and project management. Ability to work in a continuous integration development practice while adhering to AGILE methodologies when appropriate.
3. Maximizes use of available technology and standard approaches to enhance and improve business processes.
4. Code, test, configure and document programs and systems from detailed specifications using the systems development methodology (SDM) and structured programming practices to produce reliable programs.
5. Builds effective working relationships within Manufacturing Systems, other IT areas, and the business community.
6. Actively support the Team Management and Quality Improvement Process through demonstrated commitment of its concepts and tools (teambuilding, zero defects, measurement, goal setting, process models, etc.).
7. Work as a team member in the development, enhancement and support of applications that meet or exceed customer requirements.
8. Acquires knowledge of existing applications for troubleshooting and user questions to be an asset to the user community. Maintains and resolves customer support tickets that are received through helpdesk.
9. Maintain technical proficiency by training and using the latest techniques in developing and maintaining systems.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
REQUIRED:
- BS degree or equivalent related work experience in Computer Science or Information Technology plus 3-5 years related work experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with and knowledge of MS SQL and reporting/data visualization tools (ex. MS SSRS, PowerBI, Tableau).
- Knowledge in computer analysis and programming, systems development methodology, project management, customer, and communication skills. Continuous improvement in knowledge of the poultry industry via Poultry Technology courses.
- Must be able to travel occasionally (up to 10%), including overnight, to any customer area, which could be any Company facility or to a remote site for disaster recovery or training, a training facility or conference.
- Requires planned and on-call time for non-scheduled work hours as required by project & support schedules.
PREFERRED:
- Manufacturing / Operational Technology Experience
- Poultry operations and/or food and beverage industry experience
- Experience working for large organizations and demonstrated organizational awareness.
- Certifications in MS SQL, Power BI, Azure, Snowflake, or Dataiku are a plus.
- Experience and knowledge of supply chain related technologies which may include SCADA systems, ERP systems, MES systems, manufacturing applications, “Industrial Internet of Things” related technologies, Network Administration, Database administration, or similar
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Positions at Corporate are mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings, or support in facilities when they are deployed to a site. Positions in plants involve moving throughout the plants, feedmills, hatcheries and other facilities as needed to deploy, monitor, and support manufacturing systems equipment.
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
- When in a plant environment:
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
