Maintenance Planner Lead

Summary

 

The overall purpose of this position, i.e., what it accomplishes at Perdue and/or why it exists is:

Provide Maintenance Planning Clerk skills to support the Maintenance Planner and the maintenance activity scheduling.  This includes documentation to support maintenance activities that include: preventive maintenance,  capital projects and other maintenance activities using Maximo.  (Maximo is a work order and purchase order-tracing system that provides the best and most effective support to the processing of maintenance and maintenance planning activities.).  This position requires the ability to work with technical terms; Examples: MRO parts, maintenance trades, technical terminology specific to welding, fabrication, machinery parts, rebuilding equipment, etc.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Describe below are four to six major responsibilities of this position, which must be fulfilled with or without reasonable accommodation in order to achieve the essential purpose of this position.

  • Provide documentation and reports needed to support the function of the planner.
  • Administer preventive maintenance documentation for all plant equipment to include Safety; USDA, HACCP and PROJECT related items. This will include tracking of all man-hours and parts usage per PM, Work Order and Project.
  • Generate Capital Expense Requests (CER’s) necessary to support the planning and maintenance functions. (Special training will be provided). 
  • Maintenance related documentation and report writing.
  • Prepare maintenance labor utilization reports.
  • Prepare assigned cost tracking reports (parts).
  • File requisitions and reference material for purchase orders. 
  • Build and maintain a tracking system for equipment downtime that provides the planner and maintenance with tools to focus on problem areas to improve plant operations.
  • Provide with necessary reports that satisfy the needs of maintenance, accounting, purchasing and maintenance costs.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including wearing required personal protective equipment, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions. Adhering to Lockout /tag out procedures and maintaining Process Safety Management equipment related data. Maintain all related maintenance documentation.  
  • Any other duties assigned by the Planner, Complex Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Superintendent.
Minimum Education

The minimum Formal Education preferred to be considered for this position is (indicate level and years of education and if a degree is required, the major):

High school diploma or equivalent preferred with reading, writing, math and analytical skill required

Specialized or technical knowledge, credentials or licensing required for the position:

Personal computer skills (including Microsoft Office, etc.) required.

Mechanical and Electrical aptitude with plant maintenance experience preferred.

Experience Requirements

The minimum number of Years and/or Months of Prior and Related experience preferred to be considered for this position is one year.

 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

EXPOSURE TO NORMAL OFFICE ENVIRONMENT APPROXIMATELY 60% AND 40% TO PLANT AND

 OUTSIDE ELEMENTS, WITH WET, COLD & HIGH TEMPERATURES: NOISE EXPOSURE

94.1 DBA, CHLORINATED WATER <200 PPM: STANDING, REACHING,OCCASIONAL BENDING,

STOOPING, AND LIFTING WITHIN SPECIFIED GUIDELINE. OCCASSIONALLY CLIMBING ABOVE, ON

 OR  OVER EQUIPMENT WITH PROPER SAFETY APPARATUS.
