Summary
We are actively recruiting for a seasoned Refrigeration Engineering Subject Matter Expert to join our Engineering PMO. This person will travel to various locations and plan, budget, and implement projects from beginning to end for the safe use of ammonia refrigeration. This individual also maintains the necessary PSM paperwork and continuously searches for refrigeration system solutions to reduce costs and enhance product chilling and system operation.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides a safe, secure and productive work environment for our associates at all Company sites. Manages all construction sites and contractors by OSHA guidelines.
- Provides updated PSM drawings for each Company facility and review it on an ongoing basis as the plants are upgraded.
- Provides the Refrigeration Engineering support required to evaluate current plant systems. Manages immediate issues and plan long term capital improvements required to meet our business needs for all of our facilities.
- Manages capital refrigeration projects that are required for the improvement of production or the safe operation of systems.
- Provides guidance to complex managers, plant refrigeration supervisors, and safety supervisors, in developing solutions and budgets for improving processes, maintaining facilities, and innovative problem solving.
- Provides guidance to plant refrigeration and safety managers and other project managers in the area of refrigeration as needed for projects by assisting with MOC processes, recommending solutions, and insuring that best practices are followed.
- Trains project managers, project manager trainees, construction managers, construction superintendents, etc. in the proper utilization of ammonia refrigeration.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related disciplines plus 10 years related work experience.

Technical expertise in operating, designing, and troubleshooting refrigeration systems is required.

Ability to travel up 70-80% of the time to facilities and navigate the entire refrigeration system, starting with the Engine Room, through the chilling processes, and finishing with the roof mounted condensers.

Basic Microsoft Office and CAD skills.

May need to travel extensively from plant to plant. Must be able to travel to remote facilities and/or offices for meetings.
Experience Preferred
Insulating systems, poultry processing-equipment, and project management knowledge is desired. AutoCAD and equipment layout is a plus
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
1. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 2. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
