Summary

We are actively recruiting for an experienced Senior Manager, Co-Manufacturing for developing strategic relationships with contract manufacturing production capacity for all Perdue businesses and for ensuring the best value to Perdue concerning cost, quality and service provided by the contract manufacturer/supplier. They work with various internal teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions, while also managing external relationships with contract manufacturers. The position will be involved in capital investments for innovation opportunities to expand capabilities and/or capacity for volume growth. 

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop strategic contract manufacturing relationships with key partners.
  • Negotiate and resolve disputes with contract manufacturers/suppliers, conducting presentations to leadership team, and bi-annual business reviews with the 3rd party locations.
  • Establishing financial models with the contract manufacturer and ensure production metrics are tied to the financial models such as yields & scrap production metrics, to ensure co-manufacturing meet performance standards and establish KPI.
  • Ensure all co-manufacturing activities comply with industry regulations, company standards, and food safety guidelines. Perform regular audits of co-packing facilities to verify adherence.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align co-manufacturing activities with product development, sourcing, and distribution plans including departments but not limited to Quality Assurance, Operations, Purchasing, Customer Service, Transportation, Finance and Legal.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and safety.
  • Identify improvement projects and manage cross-functional implementation to enhance supplier performance.
  • Sourcing new strategic contract manufacturers and implement optimal network solutions.
  • Interact with Senior leadership to deliver organizational objectives.
  • Take leadership role in cross-functional team project deliverables.
  • Be mentor and take active role in development of team members professional career objectives.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years' experience in CPG beverage/food supply chain or related experience
  • Strong understanding of food processing (fresh & prepared), food safety regulations, and quality control
  • Demonstrate cross-functional leadership skills
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement in process management, cost, and quality and food safety
  • Strong business acumen and passion for process improvement
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships
  • Significant experience in identifying and delivering productivity projects
  • Travel to co-packing facilities as needed (up to 25%)

Experience Preferred

  • MBA
  • Seven years’ experience in contract manufacturing

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
