Summary

The Director of Sales is responsible for channel sales line for the company's Premium Poultry in a specified account base. Manages the commitment to program P&L goals, as well building and maintaining a motivated high-performing team charged with delivering aggressive volume, share, and profit targets while growing portfolio and value-added sales. Focuses on maintaining and pushing upward premium levels when available. 

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Establishes and implements strategic plan direction for channel specific sales function.
  2. Develops and executes the yearly operations plant from a pounds and revenue standpoint.
  3. Manages and upgrades the mix and price for which products are sold.
  4. Manages promotional activity, compliance to promo programs, accurate promotional forecasting
  5. Manages customer relationships utilizing CSI and customer P & L's as focal points.
  6. Develops and manages expense budgets.
  7. Manages staff including recruiting, developing and evaluation sales associates.
  8. Develops plans for raw material upgrade and utilization.
Minimum Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience in Sales, Marketing and or Business Administration.
Experience Requirements
  • 15 years sales management experience preferably in poultry or related fields, with 3-5 years working with/for Kroger preferred.
  • Experience must include managing, recruiting, developing and evaluating subordinates. 
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, coupled with mastery of sales communication.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft applications.
  • Extensive experience with data driven execution, utilizing syndicated data (i.e. IRI/Nielsen), and customer specific data insights utilizing POS information (i.e. 84.51).
  • Business plan development and forecasting expertise.
  • Frequent overnight car or air travel expected.
  • Must be able to travel to plant facilities and market areas to include extended overnight stays.
Experience Preferred
  • Prior knowledge of poultry processing facilities a plus. 
  • Experience managing and executing effective shopper marketing programs at Kroger including Best Customer Communication (84.51) and Digital downloads a plus.
  • Interviewing, computer knowledge of SAP platform, and 84.51 proficiency a plus.
  • Experience calling on other accounts within the Central Sales Region a plus.
