Summary
Join our team as a Janitorial Associate! We’re looking for a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Janitorial Associate, you’ll play a crucial role in helping to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
This position has a base rate of $16.50 per hour, plus a $1.00 shift differential, along with potential for attendance bonuses and overtime as applicable.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various areas.
- Sweep, clean and mop the floors in the common areas of the facility and in areas with high foot traffic.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms, including mirrors, fixtures, and partitions.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners in all areas daily.
- Clean breakrooms and office areas, including tables, sinks, and floors.
- Wipe down microwaves, refrigerators and high-touch surfaces..
- Stock and maintain supply rooms.
- Maintain janitorial supplies and ensure proper storage.
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
- Report to management when major repairs are needed.
- Adheres to all safety requirements including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.
- Maintains clean and safe working environment.
- Participates in Company and department safety programs.
Minimum Education
- High School or equivalent not required but preferred.
Experience Preferred
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning preferred.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills to interact with facility managers and staff.
- 6 months of steady work history is preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs. by reaching, bending, and pushing.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, bump cap and ear protection as required.
- May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 28 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May handle product varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to dust, and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
