Summary

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing the Perdue Premium Prepared Foods business for the assigned customer base in the Northeast Region. Execute the annual plan by driving net sales and profitable growth for the territory/customer base leveraging fact-based selling, brand & customer expertise and strong partnerships with both the retailers and the brokers.  Product lines include refrigerated and frozen Prepared Foods, Turkey, and Prepared Deli. The Key Account Manager will uphold Perdue’s core values of Quality, Integrity, Trust, and Stewardship and be committed to teamwork and industry-leading customer service.          

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Drives sales by developing and executing a sales plan for the assigned customer base to ensure the achievement of established goals and plan objectives.

2. Professionally represent Perdue Foods at assigned customers while upholding the company’s core values of Quality, Integrity, Trust, and Stewardship.

3. Ability to penetrate and successfully influence decision makers at all key retailers in assigned customer base.

4. Maintains high level of product knowledge, sales skills, presentation skills, and time management.

5. Comfortable with the use of syndicated, category, and shopper data as a central component of the Sales process to deliver results.

6. Establishes objectives for broker partners as applicable.

7. Collaborate with Trade Marketing to maximize promotional effectiveness and efficiency.

8. Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Planning, Trade Marketing and Customer Service to ensure that established goals are met and Customer Service expectations are exceeded. 

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing or similar, plus 4-6 years of Sales or relevant experience.  Requires strong communication, presentation, and analytical skills. Must be able and willing to travel regularly overnight to customer/vendor locations and/or plant locations.
