As an Associate Relations Rep is responsible and accountable for administration of the Company approved new hire orientation program. Responsible for establishing a working relationship with managers, supervisors and hourly production associates in the processing plant to foster an environment of cooperative progress. Effectively handles the resolution of conflict in the workplace, coaches and counsels supervision on methods to improve absenteeism, turnover, and plant efficiencies. Provide HR leadership and support to help achieve the Company’s strategic initiatives and to support the Perdue Premium Poultry and Perdue Premium Meats HR team with compliance, associate relations and administrative functions.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures newly hired associates receive an effective, timely, informative new hire orientation utilizing the company approved format and materials.  Schedules, conducts, facilitates, audits and identifies new methods to improve new hire orientation.

As an Associate Relations Rep provides coaching and counseling to supervisory personnel to improve the supervisors’ ability to effectively direct their workforce.

 Assists hourly and salaried personnel with assistance in conflict resolution. Ensures consistent policy application in the resolution of issues addressed. Provides training to supervisory personnel on policies and procedures

Manages the Peer Review / Management Review process. 

Identifies, designs, trains, implements, and audits new methods to reduce turnover.

Effectively manages special projects as assigned by management.

As a Senior HR Generalist is responsible for I-9 system administration and weekly audits of plants, live, PTI and Corporate.

Oversees HR field operations compliance with 8850’s, First/Last Principle activities audits, Position Management Audits, and Occurrence Audits monthly.   Administers Poster Guard contract to ensure all locations have most current required labor postings in place always.

Assists with associate relations in the PPP/PPM Corporate Office departments to quickly resolve issues in a fair and consistent manner.  Provides guidance and recommendations relative to corrective action including discipline and/or terminations.

Partners with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support staffing of qualified candidates.  Obtains qualified temporary staff for the PPP/PPM Corporate Departments, negotiate rates, monitor, and process invoices.  

Responsible for handling all Consumer Request for Information (CRFI) cases that are received by HR by working with QA, Legal, and /or other departments to complete the request within guidelines and timelines.

Processes Corporate Unemployment Claims and Sedgwick STD and LOA notices.

Partners with HR Directors to ensure promotions/transfers/terminations/salary increases, etc. are processed timely in the HRMS.

Provides and analyzes PPP/PPM HR Metrics.  Reports on weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis and as required.

Assists with budget preparation and data management to include expense report preparation and monitoring.

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Labor Relations or related field.

MS degree preferred.  SHRM HR Certification a plus.

Experience Requirements

3 -5 years related work experience in an HR function. Strong track record of HR business partnership. Must also have a solid understanding of state and federal employment law, AAP, OFCCP, and compliance matters.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook necessary.  Advanced skills with Excel required.   High degree of demonstrated business acumen.

Additional requirements may be proven success in writing, updating and auditing Affirmative Action Plans, thorough knowledge of I-9 requirements, experience in handling ADA, EEOC, DOL, OFCCP.  Previous experience in working with production employees in a manufacturing environment, previous experience with HRIS, proven experience in problem-solving, previous experience with automated timekeeping, previous experience in orientation of new employees.  Requires an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1 to 3 year time span.  Must be able to multi-task and organize multiple protocols and projects and completed on schedule.  Requires strong analytical skills, analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level.  Must have knowledge of and ability to provide strong customer orientation along with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization and a commitment to excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Requires knowledge of and a commitment to team performance, effective coaching and demonstrated skills or a strong team player.  Requires travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and/or company business.

Experience Preferred

Experience with a company timekeeping system, i.e., Kronos.  Experience as an HR generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.  SAP HCM experience preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
 When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
