Summary

The Purchasing Clerk will perform administrative and clerical duties for the purchasing department.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provides administrative and clerical support to the department.
Types reports, purchase orders, memoranda, and other documents.
Researches vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
Establishes and maintains recordkeeping system for purchasing department.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2-4 year college degree preferred but not required. Must be proficient in Data Entry, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Inventory Control.

Experience Requirements

At least two years of clerical experience preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Exposure primarily consists of wet & moist floors which include metal & plastic grating surfaces
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db
May be exposed to all chemicals used in pork, food, processing facility
Must wear and use protective equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distances, degrees, angle, weights, height, intervals of time, object grasped, and body position depending upon the task being performed.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
