Summary
Our Prince George, VA team is looking for a Stockroom Supervisor that directs and supervises the day to day activates of the supply room in support of the plant maintenance and productions departments ensuring the efficient flow and storage of parts and supplies to minimize downtime and loss of inventory items. In addition to planning and scheduling work-orders and materials for all planned maintenance activities. This position also supervises beginning of the week maintenance techs.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage general associates including hiring, training, motivating and developing associates to ensure all services are provided on time and goals are met paying attention to cost.
- Provide timely accurate and consistent reports (safety, accounting cost, human resources, administrative, etc...) in area of responsibility.
- Provide a safe work environment for all associates eliminating unsafe acts and conditions.
- Ensure the Quality Improvement Process and Team Management concepts are employed within your areas of responsibility.
- Control cost and asset managed using BPMH Standards as a guide.
- Develop policies and procedures to improve control and promote better efficiency in the supply area.
- Participates with the continual development and improvement of maintenance policies, procedures and standard operating procedures for the facility.
- Ensures Supply clerks obtain training as related to facility policies, procedures and personal safety.
- Assists the Maintenance Manager in the development and achievement of annual cost reductions and capital programs.
- Weekly verification and sign-off of Supply clerks work hours.
- Maintains and ensures spare parts inventories are being maintained consistent with procedures.
- Administers the compensation and employee consultation programs effectively and consistently.
- Ensures a clean and organized Supply room area.
- Monitors blocked invoices and provide resolutions to prevent them.
- Utilizes the computerized maintenance management systems to their fullest potential as a tool to keep the department organized and as a communication tool to the plant and corporate management.
- Creates purchase orders for packaging, supply, and operating material and parts.
- Performs other maintenance related tasks and special assignments as requested by the Maintenance Manager.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture or related discipline.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience. At least one year of supervisory experience is highly preferred.
- Proven track record demonstrating ability to lead people and get results.
- Should be computer literate with skill in Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to organize multiple protocols/projects and complete on schedule.
- Knowledge of Industrial Safety Precautions, automated inventory management systems and warehouse and supply operations
- Must be able to communicate to all levels of the organization; possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and/or Company business.
Experience Preferred
- Experience with Maximo purchasing systems preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
