Summary

Accurately and timely loads and delivers grain according to grain order directives.  Delivers to facilities as assigned by dispatcher.  Determines and conveys needed repairs and/or preventative maintenance to fleet mechanics.

This position is a piece rate position and is paid $ .65 per mile completed.  Annual bonus (variable depending on performance) as well as overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures timely and accurate delivery of grain according to dispatcher scheduling.
  • Performs a pre-trip truck inspection according to a DOT sheet, reporting any deficiencies to proper fleet mechanics.
  • Ensures the correct weight of grain is loaded into the truck and the correct weight is delivered.
  • Ensures accurate recordkeeping of fuel purchases, trip tickets, daily logs and time sheets, no hold and grain pick up.
  • Preform other duties as required

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Valid Class A CDL license 

Experience Requirements

2 years’ experience.  Reading, writing and math skills. 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Able to drive a tractor with a trailer. 
  • Able to remain seated for extended periods of time up to the limits established by DOT regulations.
  • Able to withstand bouncing and vibration from truck and road conditions.
  • Able to lift boxes up to 50pounds to load/unload products.
  • Exposed to fuel and oil spills.
  • Exposed to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0-100%) and noise (50db to 100db).
  • Required to travel to customers, distributors, plant facilities and other remote locations.
  • May be required to remain away from for home overnight from time to time.
