Summary

The Assistant Manager of Digital Marketing for Click & Collect will work in partnership with the Digital Marketing Director to grow sales of Perdue products in online grocery channels (primarily Pick Up & Delivery).  They will spend approximately half their time actively managing, optimizing, and reporting on retailer search campaigns and half their time on improvement of Perdue’s presence on the digital shelf.  They will have ownership of hands-on, day-to-day execution of search marketing campaigns and ownership of content management and retailer content syndication efforts.

 

Ideal candidate will be based within 3 hours of Salisbury, MD.  For those willing to relocate, full relocation packages are available. 

Remote may be considered - Ideal remote candidate should be based in the DC Metro Area, Denver, CO or Chicago, IL.

 

 

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Retail Media Management

  • Drive sales on retailer platforms using paid search media strategies including budget and bid management, keyword development and optimization, and data analysis using a combination of SaaS platform and native (retailer) applications
  • Manage the day-to-day activity and regular analysis for Perdue’s click and collect paid search marketing efforts, including monitoring and measuring success and regular reporting on effectiveness and efficiency
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports that inform business and marketing decisions from the perspective of retailer media
  • Using data, tell stories about Perdue’s retailer media performance, including performance, category trends, competitive benchmarking, and others

Digital Shelf Management

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day publishing and syndication of product content via digital shelf partners, including but not limited to Salsify and Syndigo, and coordinate with retailer content teams to align APIs or submit manual delivery of content
  • Work with sales teams to understand what metrics and requirements retailers are using to measure the digital shelf (i.e. Content Report Cards) and develop actions plans to meet those requirements and improve scores where applicable
  • Review and audit content health and search rankings to determine gaps and opportunities to improve Perdue’s position on the digital shelf; fill product content gaps and errors and manage updates to product content in Perdue’s PIM/DAM systems through a combination of creative writing, product knowledge, and understanding Perdue’s shopper
  • Lead the development of digital shelf insights through development of scorecards, data analysis, and tools to measure digital shelf effectiveness
  • Participate in cross-functional workstreams with Marketing, Design, and DTC ecommerce teams to improve content management and organization

Analytics & Measurement

  • Manage the regular analysis and activation for Perdue’s click and collect search marketing efforts, including monitoring and measuring success, developing recommendations for optimization, and day-to-day platform operation
  • Analyze large sets of data to uncover the implications and insights, as well as create recommended actions to influence future outcomes
  • Support the Digital Marketing Director with click and collect data and insights for ongoing improvement of programs and growth

Project Management

  • Assist in management of digital marketing programs, including but not limited to development of creative requests, collaboration with the external creative team, legal review and approval, and delivery of assets to partners, as well as hands-on updating of self-service platforms for search marketing
  • Work with internal business teams to support effective digital marketing programs for key customers/platforms

Minimum Education and Experience

The ideal candidate must :

  • Have a minimum two years CPG experience or two years click and collect experience
  • Have experience managing search marketing campaigns, including a strong understanding of the fundamentals of search marketing – bid setting, keyword management, optimization, and data analysis
  • Have experience working with retailer media platforms, including customer-specific/self-service and platform-based/SaaS partners, including but not limited to grocery or mass retailers
  • Be comfortable with large data sets and be able to manipulate them in Microsoft Excel and other analytic tools to uncover actionable insights
  • Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of digital shelf publication systems and retailer tools for the ingestion of product content (i.e. Salsify, Syndigo, Nielsen BrandBank, etc.)
  • Have high competence with Microsoft Office suite applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

 

Desired Experience or Education:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field (I.e. Marketing, Business, Digital Marketing, Finance, Merchandising, Data Analytics); equivalent experience in CPG or click and collect industries in lieu of four-year degree acceptable
  • Excellent at both verbal and written communication
  • Self-starter and intellectually curious, able to work independently without direct oversight
  • Experience with grocery or consumable categories, especially random weight items, is a bonus
  • Experience with syndicated data (i.e. IRI and Nielsen) is a bonus

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.  Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
