Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a Commodity Movement Planner in Salisbury, MD to support our Feed Ingredient business.  This position is responsible for assisting merchandisers and traders with the procurement and sale of commodity products and the coordination required to ensure the timely movement and delivery of the products.  Work is focused on customer satisfaction (internal and external) and achievement in line with company vision and values.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist merchandisers and traders with the purchase and sale of commodity products.
  • Coordinate with customers and vendors regarding shipment details (i.e. load #’s, dates to pick up, rail car shipments, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Transportation to determine the availability of equipment and freight rates
  • Work with merchandiser and trader to trouble shoot and resolve accounts receivable issues.
  • Provide information and authorization numbers to customers and vendors.
  • Create, update and close load orders as required.
  • Enter accruals and validate after the fact non-freight accruals in SmartSoft.

Minimum Education

BS Degree (AgriBusiness, Business or Sales & Marketing)

Experience Requirements

1 to 3 years of experience.  Understanding of Sales and Marketing concepts.  Strong oral and written communications skills.  Strong interpersonal skills.  Strong negotiating skills.  Understanding of transportation modes and methodologies.  Understanding of standard software applications.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Normal climate controlled office spaces.  Able to operate a motor vehicle and travel to and from customer locations.  Able to use standard office equipment to include telephone, computers, copiers etc.  Able to move freely about plant and customer facilities.  May be exposed to external weather conditions to include rain, snow and extreme temperatures (0 - 100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), and noise (50db to 100db).    Able to lift up to 50 pounds.  Occasional overnight travel may be required.
