Direct and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local environmental laws and regulatory programs for all of Perdue Agribusiness locations. To provide technical support on environmental and regulatory issues to facility and operational managers and supervisors.  Direct and develop staff and evaluate costs associated with the environmental department.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead and manage the AgriBusiness Environmental staff to include hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department.   Lead, promote and create a safe working environment for all associates.  Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal requirements.  Develop, lead, and manage the environmental compliance and sustainability programs for PAB (includes securing and maintenance of required permits for Federal/state/local agencies).  Direct the development and management of policies, procedures, and reporting systems.  Provide direction, education, and advice to facility senior operations and facility management.  Manage the Hazardous Waste and CRTK programs for PAB.  Develop programs and initiatives to reduce the Agribusiness environmental footprint.  Monitor current and pending legislation, regulatory requirements and trends to advise on potential impacts to the Company and develop a course of action.  Represent PAB at governmental regulatory agencies, various industry associations and other outside functions.  Develop long-range strategic plans to ensure environmental requirements for AgriBusiness are accomplished.

Minimum Education

  • BS Degree (Environmental Science or Biological Sciences)
  • Professional Engineering Certification (preferred)

Experience Requirements

10 to 15 years of experience in the Environmental field.  Experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.  Understanding of standard software applications.  Strong communication, math, organizational and analytical skills.  Strong communication, math, organizational, and analytical skills.  Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Experience Preferred

Wastewater treatment license (preferred)

Visual opacity training (preferred)


Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Able to move freely throughout the facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 150'), carrying tools and equipment (0-50 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).   Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus. Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities and other offsite locations.  Able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's licemse.  Able to use standard office equipment and communicate on telephone.
