Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Asset Manager to oversee the management of our company’s assets, including light-duty vehicles, Class 8 trucks, and material handling equipment (MHE). In this role, you will be responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of assets, ensuring they are utilized efficiently and effectively. You will collaborate with various departments to assess company needs and provide recommendations for asset acquisition and disposal.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the acquisition, disposal, preventative maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement asset management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with departments to evaluate vehicle and equipment needs, ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
  • Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized specifications.
  • Assist with managing a fleet replacement schedule based on total cost analysis, considering factors such as utilization, depreciation, maintenance, and replacement costs.
  • Assist in preparing and managing the annual capital budget, including periodic reports and fleet-related financial analysis.
  • Manages truck and trailer rental program with multiple providers including installation and removal of company telematics.
  • Analyze fleet inventory, fuel usage, and maintenance data to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all vehicles and equipment, including acquisition and disposal details, in the Fleet Asset Management system.
  • Inspect and accept vehicles upon arrival on-site, resolving any discrepancies between condition inspections and actual condition.
  • Oversee asset inventory, ensuring all assets are properly tagged and accounted for.
  • Coordinate with other departments to optimize asset utilization and performance.
  • Develop and implement asset disposal policies and procedures, including reconditioning plans to prepare vehicles for resale.

 

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ fleet management/maintenance leadership experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must be a self-starter able to obtain successful results with general supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Able to move freely throughout the garage facility to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 50'), carrying tools and equipment (0-100 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available).   Must be able to wear protective equipment.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $73,000.00 - $91,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).
