Manages all aspects of live production planning.  This would include breed orders, egg production and position net of demand, meeting chick demand and overseeing the broiler live inventory.  This position would also maintain the 5 year live capacity analyses for housing, hatcheries, and mills.  Additionally, conduct and present any analyses associated with changes in planning, performance or financial impacts.  This position would have direct or dotted line responsibility for associates planning breeders, egg production, hatchery planning, chick placements and harvest schedules.  Position works closely with Live production managers and directors and supply planning management

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains 5 year live capacity analyses for all of live production.
  • Oversees all live planning functions – some with direct responsibility, some with dotted line.
  • Conducts ad hoc analyses in the areas of planning, capacity, what-ifs, impacts given changes in parameters.
  • Works side-by-side with supply planning to enable order fulfillment, adherence to volume and average live weight goals while meeting live production goals.
  • Supports improvements of current planning process through implementation and use of MTech functionality.

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in Poultry Science, Business or related field.

Experience Requirements

5 plus years experience.  Strong analytical skills and ability to anitcipate, plan, understand seasonality and project outcomes with varying parameters.  Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite to include Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, etc.

Experience Preferred

Prior industry experience to include growout, breeders, hatchery, supply planning or other applicable areas.  Prior experience with M-Tech.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants.

Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amount of airborne dust, feathers,

When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses.
Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs.

Must be able to climb to a height of 30' as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
