Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Ingredient Coordinator at our facility located in Salisbury, MD.  This position is responsible for assisting in the procurement of animal proteins, grain, and vegetable oils and issuing related contracts.  This position will also provide the required logistics to get the product to operations.  It will also perform various audits of the process and providing required reports for management.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist Procurement/Product Managers with the purchase of animal proteins, grain, and vegetable oils and issue required contracts as related
  • Coordinate all transportation logistics as required.  Assist in resolving any unforeseen problems with suppliers relating to operations, purchasing or quality issues
  • Prepare various reports to include commodity market trends, procurement volumes, inventory positions, freight costs, etc.
  • Coordinate with Treasury & Accounting regarding outstanding payments and claims
  • Audit and perform contract maintenance regarding open balances, closing balances, etc.

Minimum Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in AgBusiness, Business, or Supply Chain/Logistics (preferred)

Experience Requirements

  • 0-5 years of experience
  • Proficient in Excel (data formating, pivot tables, and charting)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Math and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies 
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment
  • Travel (at the discretion of the VP) to attend meetings, SVP Sales, Supply chain & Optimization's staff meetings, and other business-related requirements
