Summary

The University Relations/Campus Recruiter will be responsible for managing the college recruitment program for Perdue Foods, Perdue Farms and Perdue Agribusiness. This person will foster excellent relationships with Colleges/Universities representatives, Hiring Managers and Students. This position is responsible for the development of local and national recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources, as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas as it relates to College/University Campus Recruiting. The University Relations/Campus Recruiter will perform full life cycle recruiting for our college programs and internships.

 

The salary range for this position is $63,000 - $95,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee, develop and maintain processes and act as subject matter expert on college recruitment/campus talent acquisition for Corporate, PAB and Operations internship, management trainee and entry level employment opportunities
  • Develops an effective pipeline of key talent potentially available for immediate hire as succession planning needs dictate.
  • Develop, build/manage programs and maintain strong partnerships with Career Services at top targeted Colleges/Universities; foster relationships with internal alumni. Develops and maintains a network of industry contacts to help identify and source qualified employees.
  • Coordinate, plan and attend local and national recruiting, talent acquisition and industry related events including career fairs, expositions, club/committee meetings, etc.
  • Partner with hiring managers and business partners to aid and advise on University Relations recruitment strategies. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with client group, HR field personnel, vendors, community organizations and other team members.
  • Plan and execute Summer Corporate Internship program events
  • Stay informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting practices so as to plan the delivery of solutions, improve business processes, and provide subject matter expertise in the area of University/Campus talent acquisition.
  • Performs administrative tasks including: ordering new hire swag bags, processing First Round and college recruitment new hire bonuses/stipends, data entry into SAP on mid-year and 1-year position and salary changes, tuition reimbursement program reimbursements and related
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation on college recruitment hiring progress, retention, employment status and career progression for hires
  • Manages College Recruitment SharePoint to ensure all materials and resources are updated, maintained and available to corporate and field HR personnel
  • Create and maintain university recruitment advertising materials (digital and hard copy)
  • Performs full lifecycle recruiting for interns, live management trainee and entry level positions.
    • Create requisitions and reviews resumes/credentials for appropriateness of skills in relation to position requirements
    • Pre-screen interviews all candidates presented and manages the scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates and hiring managers
    • Extends all offers of employment to selected candidates within established guidelines
    • Ensures completion of candidate pre-employment screenings prior to hire

 

 

 

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.

Experience Requirements

  • 1-3 years of professional level recruiting experience for non-exempt and/or exempt level employees.
  • Specialized or technical knowledge, credentials or licensing required for the position include: Professional competence in HR body of knowledge to include management practices & policies, employment law, staffing, salary administration, EEO/AAP.
  • High level of organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of management at both corporate and field locations. 
  • Solid working knowledge of social media and web-recruiting techniques to drive talent pipelines.
  • Ability to travel to local and national recruiting and industry events (Travel will average approximately 30% - most travel is seasonal based on campus recruiting events.)

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
