R&D Facilities Technician

Summary

Our R&D Team at our Innovation Center in Salisbury, MD is looking for a Facilities Technician. This individual will be responsible for activities necessary to maintain the Innovation Center as a show place for internal and external visitors. Ensure facility is properly maintained, cleaned, and organized. Responsible for acquiring supplies, scheduling meeting rooms and kitchens within the Innovation Center.

This position has a target wage of $18.00 - $27.00 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Kitchen Coordination: Assist with approving scheduling of kitchens through email and Outlook calendar. Cleanliness of overall kitchen space and storage areas. Organization, ordering supplies and restocking of kitchens. Support product cuttings as needed.
• Administrative: Assist with approving scheduling of meeting rooms through email and Outlook calendar. Work with organizers to ensure meeting room layout meets their needs as well as providing supplies and AV support as needed. Assist with processing invoices, expense reports and orders.
• Housekeeping:  Assist with maintaining cleanliness throughout facility to include kitchens, warehouse, coolers and freezers.  Work with associates to maintain areas in a clean and orderly fashion. Assist with disposal of ingredients and products.
• Other Duties: Provide support for sensory testing, pilot plant and shipping/receiving as needed. Arrange for and purchase samples and ingredients as requested from local stores. Pickup products from Perdue production facilities when needed. Keep supply closets organized and assist with placing orders as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma with a valid driver’s license. Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of related work experience.

•  Must work well with others and able to take direction.
• Must be organized and conduct housekeeping activities to maintain clean and sanitary work areas.
• Excellent oral and written communication and planning skills.
• Must know Microsoft Word and Excel. Occasional overtime and travel may be required.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is exposed to environmental temperatures to include extreme cold, heat and humidity. Must be able to climb steps and ladders. Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs. Must wear all personal protective equipment as required by safety programs.
