Summary

Create an organized working environment ensuring proper storage, indexing, retrieval and disposal of paper documents according to established retention policies. Ensure that documents are secure, accessible, and compliant with legal regulatory requirements.

 

This position has a target wage of $20.80 - $31.00 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with locations to get documents delivered to the corporate office in the required containers including the proper classifications and dates for storage. Accept shipments of documents from locations for storage. Stage for proper logging and storage.
  • Log all documents received, classify, log in computer system appropriately and place documents in storage locations in computer system and in physical locations, as designated for future retrieval and destruction requirements to be completed as necessary.
  • Maintain organized record storage facilities to ensure proper physical storage and conditions for paper records.
  •  Ensure company complies with laws and regulations regarding document storage and destruction.
  • Respond to record requests and provide documents only to authorized users in accordance with regulations.  Ensure confidentiality and compliance regarding document requests and legal situations.
  • Destroy documents in software system as well as the physical documents in accordance with document retention schedule.  Requires secure shredding and disposal.

Minimum Education

High School or GED equivalent.

CRM Certification - preferred

Experience Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years job related experience.
  • Knowledge of record management principles and legal requirements.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry objects that have considerable weight (up to 35 pounds per container).
  • Ability to work from ladders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Data Entry, Microsoft office and electronic document storage systems.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position has physical requirements for the job including the ability to lift, push, pull and carry objects that have considerable weight (up to 35 pounds per container). Mush be able to work from ladders. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
