Summary

Provide corporate accounting support by preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and providing cost accounting support as needed to various departments throughout the Company. Maintain and execute monthly closing accounting processes. Provide support for the financial reporting under generally accepted accounting principles. Provide support as part of the annual independent audit of the Company’s financial statements as well as for the independent audit for the employee benefit plan. Manage and assist in the preparation of various government reporting requirements.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Perform monthly closing duties as assigned by management. Such duties shall include journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, cost allocations and disbursements, and provide system administrative support for the journal entry and account reconciliation accounting systems.

2. Perform cost center support duties for various corporate functions as assigned by management. Such duties shall include providing management reports, preparing journal entries, assist in the budget process, and acting as the accounting liaison for any accounting related questions or concerns. Corporate functions requiring support include departments such as IT, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Tax, Treasury, General Ledger, Property, HR, Legal, Sustainability, and Facilities.

3. Perform and/or assist in performing corporate accounting processes including escheatment (including maintaining unclaimed property database), expense system reporting, and commodity reporting.

4. Assist in the financial reporting process under generally accepted accounting principles including the annual independent financial audit of the company.  This involves activities such as the preparation of necessary schedules, assist with coordinating with the independent auditors, and facilitating the collection of all schedules throughout the company including those utilized for the footnotes in the consolidated financial statements.

5. Assist in the annual independent audit of the company’s employee benefit plan.  This involves activities such as the preparation of necessary schedules, assist with coordinating with the independent auditors, and facilitating the collection of all schedules with HR.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in Accounting plus a minimum of 3 - 5 years related work experience.  Strong PC skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel.  Must be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills; demonstrate skill in team building and conflict resolution; demonstrate good planning, problem solving and analytical skills.  Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively.  

Experience Preferred

Experience in SAP 6.0, Maximo, Blackline, Promenta. MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
