Summary

The Senior Manager, IT Supply Chain provides Foods Supply Chain leaders with tactical technology leadership, focusing on maintaining and optimizing existing systems to support Supply Chain business operations. The role is responsible for executing IT plans to enhance day-to-day operational efficiency, system reliability, and business continuity within the Supply Chain. The position will collaborate with Supply Chain stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure all functional and technical requirements are met through effective system maintenance, process improvements, and issue resolution. The role will work closely with IT Directors and VPs to align and optimize current systems, data, and technology, adhering to data governance and security protocols while efficiently managing shared resources and assets. The ideal candidate will focus on driving operational excellence by maintaining and enhancing existing technologies, leveraging data analytics to improve decision-making, and ensuring consistent delivery of reliable reporting and insights. This position will partner with IT and Data Governance to uphold best practices in data stewardship and ensure data integrity. A key responsibility includes identifying and addressing gaps in current system architecture, maximizing the value of existing resources, and executing a multi-year plan for system optimization. The role will also oversee change management, scope definition, cost/benefit analysis, project management, and implementation to ensure seamless adoption and measurable ROI.

 

The salary range for this position is $126,000 - $190,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

This position is based at Corporate Headquarters in Salisbury, MD.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand and address business goals and operational requirements associated with IT roadmaps for Live Operations, Demand & Supply, Food Safety & QA, Transportation, and Logistics/Materials Management. Ensure alignment with BPR via strong partnerships evaluating, justifying, and deploying technologies that enhance Supply Chain performance and deliver measurable bottom-line value
  •  Provide hands-on IT leadership in managing the Supply Chain technology product and service portfolio, ensuring consistent performance and reliability. Maximize the value of all Foods technology assets while controlling costs. Maintain the health of all Foods products and services by overseeing timely upgrades and replacements to avoid end-of-life issues while balancing cost efficiency
  • Evaluate and propose changes to existing processes to make systems efficient, wherever opportunities exist. Develop, maintain, and enforce company-wide technology standards and policies. Collaborate with other IT areas to ensure alignment with these standards, including areas such as mobile device management (e.g., tablets)
  • Leverage vendor management best practices. Partner with IT and Procurement to aggressively maximize the value of IT spend. Vendor management to include vendor performance, vendor budget planning (IT and business areas), future roadmap of products & services, author/validate all commercial documentation, and issue escalation
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain technology associates to achieve IT Supply Chain goals. Drive succession planning activities to ensure continuity of assigned IT organization including participation with the IT and business execs to assess corporate-wide talent. Develop and implement sourcing options (staff augmentation) providing support for periodic peak demand or specialized skills needed while ensuring cost effectiveness. Responsible to determine system solutions to achieve goals of the IT strategic roadmap in subject area
  • Collaborate with other business executives on joint activities including system change reviews, and strategic planning. Work with execs to gain approval and schedule services for IT purchasing, infrastructure & security and application architecture. Focus to identify, vet, justify and deploy technology to support Supply Chain improvements that deliver bottom line value to the company
  • Ensure technology solutions meet all legal requirements, internal controls, accounting standards, and security policies. Participate in external and internal audits and Sarbanes Oxley activities while collaborating with business unit and IT execs to ensure company-wide consolidated result reporting
  • Assist and evaluate business requirements to hypothesize SAP and other centric business solutions

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree in business or computer-related major or equivalent experience 

Experience Requirements

  • 10 Years IT Experience or equivalent experience in supply chain ERP and management roles
  • High level understanding of SAP business processes areas including: SD – Sales & Distribution, MM – Materials Management, IBP – Integrated Business Planning, TM – Transportation Mgmt.,  PP – Production Planning, QM - Quality Management
  • Develop and articulate strategic/tactical roadmap to support supply chain planning needs
  • Flexible with work assignments across business areas
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to anticipate, plan, understand business and project outcomes with varying parameters.
  • Ability to translate business strategies into actionable technology efforts
  • Strong vendor management experience
  • Strong program and financial management skills
  • Experience managing internal associates, consultants, and offshore resources
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with all organizational levels
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Highly Proficient in MS Office Suite, Project and Resource Mgmt. tools
  • Experienced in IT Governance and Resource Management Processes for the prioritization and sequencing of IT projects in constrained environments

Experience Preferred

  • S4/Hana experience

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings
  • On-call rotating support is required
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment
  • Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment
  • Some minor travel to manufacturing plant sites to support strategic projects
