Summary

The purpose of the Senior Sales Representative is to have an individual who has gained sufficient knowledge of sales to effectively execute the requirements of daily sales activities with minimal supervision. This individual should be knowledgeable about all major accounts within a region and be able to train associates sales and sales reps in the intricacies of the market, accounts receivables, pricing, feature booking, as well as communication with distribution, transportation, accounting, field sales, etc. and to realize the goals and objectives set by the sales manager for the region. The Senior Sales Representative will be responsible for handling the major bulk CVP & Frozen accounts within a designated market. The position also requires knowledge of accounts/customers able to buy excess products and methods of bundling these items to order.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures movement of product at the highest possible premium on a daily basis consistent with tonnage and mix requirements. 
  • Submits orders to distribution and product coordinators by the required times.
  • Monitors and corrects problems, where necessary, with accounts receivables to be consistent with the Company and department policies.
  • Responsible for a minimum number of daily pricing errors attributed to the sales person based on required goals. 
  • Reads, understands and modifies customer credit requests. 
  • Manages feature booking consistent with the requirements of specific product lines, ensuring accurate quantities are booked. 
  • Maintains knowledge of the constantly changing market conditions as well as the Company’s competitive and product position to maximize tonnage, product mix and premium. 
  • Reviews on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis customer specific accrual/incentive programs to ensure requirements are met.
  • Monitors all freezer inventories and coordinates sales.
  • Maintains education and participation in the QIP and attend as many in-house training and development classes as possible.
  • Maintains and corrects (with wholesale sales manager approval) all customer commitment contracts and ensures accuracy of such.
  • Establishes frozen programs to maintain proper inventory levels.

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in Sales, Marketing or Business Administration plus 4 - 5 years of related experience or in the absence of a Bachelors degree, total experience equals 12 years.  Strong reading, writing, analytical and communication skills required.  Must have good computer skills and a working knowledge of interfacing with SAP order entry systems.  Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.  Must be able to travel to plant facilities and market areas to include overnight travel.
