Summary

Our sales team in Salisbury Maryland is seeking a Senior Sales Training Manager to support our Wholesale Industrial Sales (WIFI)  and Food Service Division.  The Senior Sales Training Manager provides product/services and industry related skills training/education for the Company’s WIFI Sales and Marketing team plus its Sales Agencies (Field Representation or Brokers) and Customers/Distributors Sales Representatives.

 

 

The salary range for this position is $111,000 - $167,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures our Sales & Marketing teams are trained for professionalism, competencies and effectiveness in their rolls by providing skills/competency assessment and training related to their existing function and preparing them for future functions, incorporating inside and outside sales and the marketing team. Onboarding new Associates within the training framework of products, systems, tools to create speed to effectives.
  • Champions and provides necessary training for WIFI Sales Agencies and our Customers/Distributor partners; including skills training for Perdue WIFI needs on Corporate Initiatives, Perdue product lines and key differentiated product attributes and how they relate to various segments of Foodservice and why to sell or why to purchase for customers.
  • Manages training resources/assets along with any outside training organizations including The Food Group (Ad Agency). Coordinates and collaborates with WIFI Sales Leadership and the Marketing Team down to the Sales Agency resources via team leadership and Chefs.  Maintains the C.O.A.C.H.’s website and content, along with providing timely updates.
  • Develops and executes Training Program for WIFI.  Leader collaborating for best-in-class Sales Meetings helping to execute and plan for event requirements.  Uses appropriate teams and resources to provide leadership to accomplish the following:  Poultry and Pork School live or virtual 3 per year for each protein minimum; Deliver training updates on Sales Systems and Software regularly. Delivers Key Issues Training as identified.  Creates competitive selling techniques and competitive intel to aid the sales team process success.  Familiar with tools for product data deliver to industry and Brokers like Food Service Enablers and GS1 to aid in selling technique delivery via tech available. Certificate management for key Attributes. Analyzes new Training tools, software, video and testing (Survey Monkey et al) for state-of-the-art data delivery.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in Business or Marketing plus 8 to 10 years related work experience in Foodservice Sales, Marketing or Training. Our ideal candidate will have / be:

  • 3 years of Training experience
  • Requires frequent travel (50%) including occasional weekend travel
  • Proven independent creator of training needs and delivery of successful selling content
  • Collaborator and proven key team player
  • Microsoft environment and Microsoft Office Tools expert
  • SharePoint and File/Data/Insights Management tool expert

Experience Preferred

  • Prior training experience in Foodservice including Center of the Plate protein products at the manufacturing level.
  • Training innovator across live and unique tech options. 
  • Technical skills for training software of sales environment software for Customer Relationship Marketing and Power BI would be desirable.
  • Familiarity of Customer Ecomm selling and their assorted Marketing tools a plus. Understanding of Foodservice Cooking Equipment and how to use. 
  • Culinary interest and advocacy of great tasting food in Foodservice. 
  • Position may require ability to organize sampling/cooking events with internal or external staff often off site on Broker or Customer locations.
  • Understanding of Premium Menu Claims in Foodservice.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Position requires travel to various offices, warehouses and corporate HQ’s (internal and external)
  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another for training supplies, frozen or refrigerated samples, POS, Trade Show signage
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
