The RTC (Ready-to-Cook) Marketing Manager, with RTC Senior Director of Marketing guidance, is accountable for the development and implementation of assigned annual and long-range strategic business plans (objectives/strategies/tactics), in support of targeted volume, revenue, and brand share goals for their line of business(es). This person will work cross-functionally to lead the development and implementation of successful new product introductions, product and packaging elevations, consumer support plans and cost saving initiatives.  This position will also require the ability to effectively work with our outside agencies i.e., media, consumer promotions and packaging to ensure all key activities get completed on time. Channels of responsibility include Supermarkets, Mass, Club, Value and E-comm.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support RTC Sr Director of Marketing with the development and deployment of annual business & marketing plans. Additionally, support PMT in their development and execution of the PMT’s long term strategic plan.
  • Supports the RTC Sr Director of Marketing to deliver the defined annual volume, revenue, brand share, and ROAS goals. Additionally, support Trade and Finance teams in the development of the annual Operating Plan.
  • Oversee P&L management of their assigned businesses and/or Initiatives.
  • Management of their assigned Innovation and Renovation pipeline initiatives via the Stage Gate Process.
  • Partner with external Agencies and internal Marketing Services to ensure work delivers on annual creative brief elements and consistent brand communication.
  • Manages cross-functional teams (Packaging, R&D, Operations, QA, Marketing Services, Agencies) to ensure all assigned projects are completed on a timely basis and to scope.
  • Engagement with key members of Trade and Sales to advance MAPS for their businesses.
  • Work with RTC Sr Director of Marketing, PMT, Trade, Supply, and Demand Planning to ensure maximum mix and availability.
  • Proactively supports the team by interpreting and applying consumer research insights, syndicated data information, and competitive intelligence to successfully develop marketing strategies and response tactics to grow and/or defend the business.
  •  Manage assigned marketing budget area and/or oversee team’s estimates/invoices are appropriately approved/expensed to budget process requirements.
  • May guide or mentor junior marketing incumbents.
  • Participate within interested company programs, engage within professional development programs, and completes team development plans.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree [or equivalent related work experience in Business Administration] with 5+ years related work experience.  Consumer packaged product experience. Other key skills required: 

  1. Ability to think and act strategically balancing short and long term issues.
  2. Ability to organize, prioritize, set and meet business commitments.
  3. Ability to proactively identify business issues and develop and implement successful programs to grow the brand profitably.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Proficient Syndicated Data and P&L understanding with strong quantitative analysis skills to make “fact based” strategic recommendations/decisions.
  6. Ability to gain and retain cross-functional team support to ensure all projects are completed successfully and on-time.  

Experience Preferred

 Degree with Marketing Concentration. MBA a plus. Experience in commodity markets and/or protein specific experience a plus.
