Summary

The Territory Manager - Animal Nutrition will maintain and increase our ability to provide value to our clients and generate value for Perdue AgriBusiness.  To function within a strong team using technical services, colleagues from surrounding territories, and sales manager to provide service and support to customers and prospective customers.  Respond in a timely manner, professionally and politely to all customers, prospective customers, and all Perdue associates.

 

The salary range for this position is $84,000.00 - $126,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).  In addition to the base salary, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vison, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement short and long term marketing strategies, plans, and programs for clients, prospects, and key influencers to achieve gross margin goals for the geography assigned.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service with existing clients and prospective clients, while maintaining accurate records of call activity, expenses, and the sales process with each client and prospect
  • Identify key influencers in the assigned geography and develop lasting value-added relationships with them that will improve sales volume in the assigned territory.
  • Participate in new product development by actively offering suggestions for new products that may fit for Perdue AgriBusiness.
  • Establish and maintain an open and honest network with fellow team members throughout Perdue AgriBusiness, and ensure the safety of self and others.
  • Represent the company at public and professional functions in the assigned geography, as well as, in other parts of the US as required.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor of Science Required (Animal Science, Dairy Science, Ag Economics) OR 10+ years previous territory sales experience selling similar products.

Experience Requirements

  • Understanding of dairy feed industry, sales, and marketing.
  • Understanding of poultry feed industry, sales, and marketing. 
  • Understanding of consultative sales process. 
  • Understanding of dairy and poultry nutrition.
  • Understanding of standard software applications (Microsoft Office). 
  • Embrace environment of teamwork and serving customers. 

Experience Preferred

  • 1 - 3 years of sales and territory management experience preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Must be able to travel within the territory or within the US as needed.  Must maintain a home office, and internet connectivity for use in managing the business of assigned territory.  Overnight travel is estimated to be between 25% and 75%.  Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel to and from customer locations.  Must be able to move freely about dairy farms, feed mills and other agricultural areas.  Exposed to external weather conditions to include rain, snow and extreme temperatures (-15 - 90 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), and noise (50db to 100db).   Ability to efficiently use electronic devises such as laptop computer, iPhones and iPads as well as Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint .  Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
