Summary

Our team, based at our Corporate Headquarters in Salisbury, MD is seeking an experienced Trade Promotions Manager. The Trade Promotions Manager will supervise a group of 5 – 7 hourly and salary individuals.  Reviews, analyzes and oversees the management of trade promotional/brokerage programs. Provides sales with analytical support with relations to trade programs or data from the trade system. Oversees the reconciliation, creation and mailing of customer payments within set guidelines.  Reviews, analyzes and oversees the processing of customer deduction claims/billbacks. Provides management support through customer statements, Essbase data marts, Forge Analytics, Bex, and other special projects.   

 

 

The salary range for this position is $84,000.00 - $126,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Trains, cross trains, and develops a qualified staff to fulfill the department mission and help our associates achieve their highest potential. 
  •  Analyzes trade/brokerage programs for compliance with internal audit recommendations.  Reviews top 10 customer agreements and top 10 broker agreements to ensure agreements are attached to programs and are in compliance. Provide required information to internal and external auditors.  Monitor trade programs and payments to ensure audit compliance.
  • Develops and maintains trade promotion/brokerage accounting processes.  Supports on-going internal/external audit processes.  Establishes and maintains communication between sales management, marketing management, sales accounting, claims accounts receivable and accounts payable.  Establishes interdepartmental goals to support contract guidelines and payment term deadlines.  
  • Manages day to day activities relating to trade and brokerage.  Ensures programs are received, logged, reviewed and processed through the system correctly.  Ensures deadlines are met for payment and deduction processing.  Monitors program approval flow to minimize late programs/recalculations.
  •  Monitors trade balances and broker programs for monthly bring backs and works with Sales to keep program balances at acceptable levels.  Reconciles balances to G/L.  Supports Customer P&L questions and issues relating to trade promotions.  Makes recommendations to enhance the operation and efficiency of trade systems and participates in system upgrade projects.
  • Run trade spend balance report, and research program balances to work with sales to bring back program accrual balances.  Also process feature balances and broker commission bring backs after running balance reports.
  • Handle TPM special projects and audit requests
  • Approve invoice and deduction claims above TPM analyst limits and deviation.
  • Inform Sales and Marketing Accounting of pertinent TPM monthly details.
  • Handle all monthly TPM reports.
  • Train outside sales and trade marketing associates on TPM verbiage and processes, program and balance information, as well as utilizing both the CRM and Forge software systems

Minimum Education and Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management plus 3 - 4 years related work experience or in the absence of a Bachelor’s degree, total experience equals 10 years. 

  • Requires a good knowledge and understanding of Company’s customers within assigned area. 
  • Possesses sound business and consumer products industry experience. 
  • Must be well organized and able to analyze, coordinate and communicate with multiple groups and departments. 
  • Possesses a strong knowledge and understanding the Company’s Order through Cash and Supply Chain process.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is office based in an open cubical environment.
