Summary

The purpose of the Accounting Clerk is to perform daily, weekly and monthly production reporting and support the monthly close process through preparation of journal entries. This position will assist with weekly and monthly plant cost estimates and works closely with plant management to gather and analyze data.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Receive, code, enter, and pay various AP bills.
Print, Interpret, and input inventory information for record keeping.
File paid invoices in an organize manner.
File AR invoices in an organized manner.

Minimum Education

Associate's degree in Accounting or Business.
5 years total accounting experience in the absence of an Associate's degree.

Experience Requirements

1 to 5 years work experience.
Strong reading, communication, math, writing, and analytical skills.
Office administration, clerical and computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, Kronos, and other software.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.

When in plant environment:

Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the company.
