Summary

This position will work closely with Director of Operations, Purchasing Manager, and Maintenance Manager / Supervisors in matters related to equipment parts needs and / or changes while also assisting in the managing of the Parts Room inventory.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate ordering of all maintenance related supplies for both the Sioux Center and Sioux City plants. 
  2. Coordinate ordering of all maintenance related parts for both the Sioux Center and Sioux City plants.
  3. Manage vendors to ensure optimal pricing, combined purchasing power, and supply flow to ensure efficient and profitable operations while reducing excessive POs & next day freight where possible.
  4. Duties include, but not limited to:
    • purchase order entry in Maximo
    • back orders recorded in Maximo
    • communicating back orders with vendors
    • cross-referencing inbound shipments against packing slips
    • invoice crosscheck against PO / Packing slips ensure correct financial reporting
    • correct routing of supplies, and cost to ensure correct financial reporting
    • man parts counter to assist maintenance technicians with parts needs
    • receiving, properly locating, issuing, tracking, and ensuring accurate stock levels of parts
  5. Recording new parts within Inventory Management System (Maximo) so that records are up-to-date & accurate.
  6. Manage deliveries to Sioux Center and Sioux City to prevent production interruptions.
  7. Perform daily and monthly inventory cycle counts.

Minimum Education

2-4 year college degree preferred but not required. Must be proficient in Data Entry, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Inventory Control. 

Experience Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience. Requires strong time management, communication, planning, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet & moist floors which include metal & plastic grating surfaces
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db
  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in pork, food, processing facility
  • Must wear and use protective equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distances, degrees, angle, weights, height, intervals of time, object grasped, and body position depending upon the task being performed.
