Summary

Responsible for the management of planning and designing control systems. This includes programming, implementation, testing, and documentation of automated control systems.  The Control Systems Dev. is responsible for monitoring the quality and setting of standards of programming, implementation, testing, and documentation of a control system.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implementing and managing Inductive/Ignition.
  • Programming, implementation, testing, and documentation of a control system which may include programming of one or more parts of the control system. This would include advanced programming of the PLC, and/or the HMI (Human Machine Interface), and/or databases.
  • Configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of PC/PLC hardware and software, and networks.
  • Assist with data uplift to Perdue cloud, Building PowerBI Reports and dasboards/displays.
  • In-plant operator training for the control system.
  • Performs technical design and helps in estimating on assigned projects.
  • Familiar with DAQ from PLC to SQL database.
  • Available for after-hours support.
  • Other duties as applicable as necessary.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year college or university with an emphasis in Computer Studies or some branch of Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, etc.) or associate degree (A.A., A.S.) from a two-year community college or technical school with an emphasis in Computer Studies or Instrumentation and Controls preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Ignition
  • Experience in programming in the Industrial Environment, implementing Industrial Control Software (Startup) and experience in dealing with customers regarding system requirements.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, user interface development, database systems, and system integration

Experience Preferred

  • Industrial Manufacturing Machine Integration.
  • HMI program creation.
  • PLC program creation.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
  • May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. 
  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
