Summary

The purpose of an Artificial Insemination Grabber is to catch the hen turkeys to be inseminated, to herd turkeys and get the syringes full of semen ready and to clean and maintain all artificial insemination equipment.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Herd turkeys into a holding area before they are herded into the artificial insemination chute for catching.
Rotate upper torso of body to lift turkey hens weighing between 20 – 30 pounds in order to be placed for insemination.
Prepare syringes by filling with semen.
Maintain and clean artificial insemination equipment.
Load artificial insemination equipment weighing up to 80 pounds onto a truck at height of up to 5”.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Requirements

Strong communication, reading, writing and analytical skills required.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

In stationary positions or moving for up to 12 hours on a wet, moist, dry, greasy, smooth, rough, and uneven floors which includes concrete or litter surfaces with up to two (2) to four (4) hours in a single interval.
Ability to work from various ladders.
Exposure to and work in temperatures of<0 to >100 degrees Fahrenheit with ambient humidity, or dry exposure, noise exposure of <90 db, and light intensity range of <50 to >100 foot candles.
Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, height, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depends upon the task being performed.
Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
Exposure to chlorinated water <50 ppm, ammonia vapors >5 ppm, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, salt and other chemicals found in a poultry breeder operation.
Must wear and/or use protective and safety equipment required for the job.
