Purpose of This Position:

 

To work closely with overwrap maintenance and line leader to assure film is installed and maintained to keep machines running properly.  Reworks packages that do not meet proper standards and requirements and assists line leader to setup the line at beginning of shift.

 

Hours of Operation:

 

  • 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Makes minor machine adjustment to assure film is aligned on all overwrap wrapping machines.
  • Changes film on overwrap machines where setup by maintenance is not required and assist with setup changes.
  • Reworks improperly wrapped product by repositions product in trays and starting product through wrapping again.
  • Assists Line Leader to set up the overwrap department at beginning of shift.
  • Maintain Safety, Housekeeping, and Quality Standards.
  • Follow all safety requirements including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain clean and uncluttered work areas in work areas.
  • Follow USDA and company Quality standards and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Notifies supervisor of any machine or process conditions that may be affecting production, quality, safety, or sanitation standards.
  • Perform other job related duties and assignments as needed.
  • Temporary transfer to other Further I positions as needed for job rotation, training, and replacement.
  • Perform other reasonable job related duties and activities as directed by supervisor and management.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.

Experience Requirements

Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.

Experience Preferred

Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment:

 

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. 
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. 
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. 
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. 
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm. 
  • Able to stand for several hours. 
  • Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
