Summary

The Director of Live Production will provide leadership, development and coaching to the Live Production Operations for the Pasturebird team.  They will be responsible for performance management, budgeting, personnel decisions, production programs, health and safety programs, etc. to meet the company goals and objectives.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops strategic business plans for a competitive Live Production operation program and maintains efficient competitive operations.
  • Provides leadership, development and coaching to the Live Production operations, for the particular area of responsibility, through, but not limited to performance management, budgeting personnel decisions, production programs, health and safety programs, etc. to meet the company goals and objectives.
  • Identifies improvement initiatives and influence change for the Live Production operations, within the region of responsibility.
  • Builds and maintains an effective team to manage operations.
  • Provides a safe, secure and productive work environment for all associates in area of responsibility.
  • Communicates effectively with peers, producers, senior management, subordinates and non-company personnel to ensure performance and resolution of problems.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Poultry Science, Business Administration, Operations Management, Business Management or related discipline.  Masters or MBA preferred

Must have 10-15 years of related experience in the poultry or related industry. Priority will be given to candidates with strong engineering backgrounds. Specifically, experience with solar power systems, drive systems, PLCs, and metal construction/fabrication.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

1. Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. 2. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another . 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment. 5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
