Summary

Our Sales team is looking for the next regional leader! The Regional Sales Manager will manage all aspects of the sales and merchandising activities in a specific region. This position is responsible for implementation of the processes established by the territory manager and the Company management as the “standards” for the sales team including fact-based selling, utilization of the customer database, career development through core competency measurement and exploitation of the supply chain initiatives resulting in superior customer satisfaction.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops a written sales plan for the area of responsibility including:  goals for volume, selling price, revenue, mix, market share and P & L; contributes meaningful input to the fiscal planning process.
  • Owns the demand plan for the area of responsibility.  Collaboratively plans with the customers and develops a forecast for the region.  Establishes customer programs and plans to accomplish the regional goals.
  • Manages the daily responsibilities for booking feature contracts, headquarters call, new product presentations, and business reviews.
  • Utilizes and maintains the customer database as a tool for accurate account information and management records, as well as the vehicle for communicating weekly account contact updates.
  • Utilizes the TPM system for managing customer programs in regard to spending and results attainment.
  • Continuously improves skills by participating in classes and seminars as deemed necessary in the developmental plan.

Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or Business Administration plus 3-5 years related experience.  Our ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Strong reading, writing, communication and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to communicate with customers and suppliers. 
  • Ability to travel overnight to customer/vendor locations and/or plant locations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes at the same time.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a matrix environment where teamwork is key; strong Microsoft Office skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint

Experience Preferred

Prior knowledge and experience in sales and/or marketing; Kroger customer knowledge a plus. 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.  May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
