Summary

The primary purpose for our Area Supervisors is to coordinate activities necessary to protect the company’s brand including but not limited to environmental, food safety, emergency disease response, bio-security, and producer relations. This individual will be responsible for provide support related to all activities around the small broiler program into the Salisbury plant.  Complying with Company Policies and Procedures ultimately meeting Departmental Goals and Objectives.  This position will also support many of the other initiatives deemed necessary by management in order to maintain competitiveness and drive improvements in the business unit.  Working closely with flock advisors to ensure broilers are in the correct weight range, weight projections to exceed 80%, and all producer relation responsibilities are met.  Additionally, carry out any and all initiatives that will support program growth and profitability

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Have the ability to provide Leadership, Training and Coaching to all Flock Advisors to ensure all Perdue Policies and Production Programs are being met.  This will be accomplished utilizing MTech Program System, Field Visits, and Phone Communications with both Flock Advisors and Contract Producers
  2. Will be responsible for the writing and provide explanation and review of their subordinates Performance and Developmental Plan. (PDP)
  3. Have the ability to plan out all meetings necessary to improve producer relationships.  These may consist of individual route meetings, farmer dinners, farmer council meetings, and any other meetings deemed necessary.
  4. Be responsible for the reporting and Monitoring of their Area Goals and Objectives with the Development of Plans with Flock Advisors to Improve Route and Individual Farm Performance through but not limited to Growing Programs, Bird Health, Vaccine Programs, Lighting etc. to improve current situations.
  5. Must act as a Mediator of Situations that arise between Flock Advisors, Producers but not limited to Hatcheries, Health Services, Feed mill and the plant to ensure that all sides have a clear understanding of Company Policies and all disputes are handled fairly.
Minimum Education
  • High School or equivalent
Experience Requirements
  • 1 -3 years.
  • Good communication (oral and written), reading, math and analytical skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Should be computer literate with skills in Microsoft.
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to travel to other facilities and plant locations.
  • Good communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Good organizational and planning skills are required
Experience Preferred
  • Bachelors Degree in the field of Poultry Science, Agribusiness, Animal Science, or similar
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

1. Must be physically able to work in all locations including hatcheries, feed mills, chicken houses and processing plants. 2. Exposed to seasonal weather conditions as well as significant amount of airborne dust, feathers, 3. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. 4. Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses. 5. Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs. 6. Must be able to climb to a height of 30' as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
