Summary

This position is critical to the ongoing success of our Maintenance and Reliability efforts. The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is responsible for identifying the elements of an executable work package that should contain, but is not limited to, the work plan (including the process and desired end results), the necessary materials, tools, permits, and labor requirements and developing Time-Phased plan for execution in alignment with Reliability Excellence processes. This position must also update and adjust existing job plans and equipment data to ensure accurate files for work execution, and is expected to maintain accurate equipment files as well as accurate, effective and up to date job plans. The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler is also expected to spend the appropriate amount of time on the production floor inspecting work sites to ensure that all safety and work process considerations are incorporated into the job plan.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  •  
  • Develop plans for all maintenance activities, including maintenance of Maximo and PM System data and reporting;
  • Analyzing data for use in maintenance planning and scheduling; maintaining and developing Best Practices for preventative maintenance;
  • Ensuring a continuing review of P.M. work orders as they relate to equipment history; making recommended modifications to optimize equipment reliability and maintenance labor utilization; Learning universal maintenance standards to develop reasonable expectancies for the time to complete maintenance tasks;
  • Identify and label all new equipment in keeping with company standards and keeping records current; using Key Performance Indicators to provide fact-based feedback to Manager;
  • Plan maintenance work with regard to level of skill and safety training required to complete task; reviewing SAP/Maximo data from other locations with similar equipment and report findings and recommendations;
  • Administering maintenance shift scheduling, work order backlog, and recommended planning for scheduled downtime work, including scheduling availability of parts;
  • Interfacing with engineering, local management, Operations Support, and various other corporate departments as necessary (and outside entities when working on special projects); interface with Operations Support concerning appropriate reports to develop, track and report to management.
  • Develop a Time-phased plan of activities. The time-phased plan indicates what is to be done, when, by whom and with what equipment. Proper Scheduling achieves multiple objectives: high efficiency, low inventories, and excellent customer service. The setting of order and time for planned events. Taking decisions regarding the allocation of available capacity or resources (equipment, labor and space) to jobs, activities and tasks over time.

Minimum Education

  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Specialized training or education (post-high school) in maintenance is preferred

Experience Requirements

5+ years preferred.

 

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
  • Able to stand for several hours.
  • Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
