Summary
Our Prince George, VA facility is actively recruiting for a Production Planner. The overall purpose of this position is to manage the daily operations of hourly associates who are responsible for the receiving and product planning of all products into the warehouse and production to maximize profitability of the facility distribution process.
Supervisor must also assure all USDA, QA, facility management standards of quality, ergonomics, Human Resources and other related facility and department goals and objectives.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maximize profitability of production at Prince George RC. Maintain all products in channel.
- Coordinate daily production of all products in Prince George with supply planning.
- Provide daily metrics to support in channel profitability.
- Coordinate with sales team to maximize efficiency, yield and profitability of Prince George production.
- Provide weekly reporting and updates on in channel percent and profitability for Prince George.
- Define and coordinate daily production capabilities by product code for Prince George.
- Prioritize inbounds and provide list to Receiving Lead and Yard Jockey(s), for all shifts.
- Communicate and coordinate with Sales, Demand Planning, Wave Planning and Receiving on any exceptions on product codes (e.g. updates, using older dates for certain orders), this includes ensuring that “Must Go” product is allocated on the correct orders as well as product received in house to meet demands.
- Communicate with Demand Planning on any product shortages, exceptions, and inventory issues on a daily basis.
- Ensure inventory is rotated “FIFO”, as well as clearing all “problem resolution” products as they encounter them.
- Manage daily receiving operations ensuring production goals are met consistently.
- Ensure the cooler locations are set up to handle the current products by SKU and volume with the correct picking and storage strategies.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
Minimum Education
Bachelors degree in business or related field plus 3-5 years of poultry processing experience to include yields, cost, profitability drivers and production planning; or at least 7 years experience without degree.
Experience Requirements
Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Powerpoint.
Experience Preferred
Experience with Six Sigma and/or continuous improvement programs. Preferred experience with SAP and Computerway Food Systems (CFS).
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
- When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
