Corporate Security Co-op

Summary

This position will work directly with the Corporate Security Management Team, Human Resources and the Safety & Security Managers in both Foods and Agribusiness. This position will be responsible for the management, monitoring and support for various security-related software applications may include Perdue’s emergency notification system, Perdue's background investigation process and the HQ-related access control system and processes. In addition, this position will take the lead to with the Corporate Security Team to develop, communicate and disseminate security-related training programs in both Foods & Agribusiness.

What You Will Learn & Main Responsibilities

• Help identify and support the development and dissemination of appropriate training for Rave, Sterling and other security-related systems such as incident reporting, camera and access control software programs.
• Track all security related training for those that require access to security-related systems and applications
• Support the documentation of Security Standards and practices both online and within the Security & Food Defense Audit process.
• Communicate, disseminate, and track the results of all security-related audits (i.e.- background investigations, security equipment reviews, Security & Food Defense, etc.)
• Maintain the Corporate Security intranet site as needed
• Track all security-related spend across the company to support the development of a true security budgeting process and create awareness across the company regarding the ‘cost of security’.
• Prepares with the Corporate Security Team annual estimated budgets by complex and business unit for security-systems.

Minimum Education

• Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree at an accredited university in security / security management, information technology or management
• Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher

Experience Requirements

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software
• Have strong communication skills, including written and verbal
• Must be able to work independently or in teams

Experience Preferred

• 3.25 GPA or higher is highly preferred
• Proven advances skills using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Detail oriented and able learn, and then communicate in plain language, the concepts and knowledge required for others to operate and use various security-related software applications.
• Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
