Summary
Our team in Salisbury, MD is looking for a Director of Capital Expenditure Accounting to oversee the accounting and financial reporting of capital expenditures within the Foods organization. This role involves interacting with several roles across the Foods organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic insights related to capital investments. The Director will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and analysis of capital projects and expenditures.
The salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $215,000.00 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation of Capex monthly reporting and financial reports. Provide analysis of financial performance on monthly & quarterly basis, while calling out risks & identifying opportunities. This includes variance insights, tracking cost savings initiatives and developing presentations for the Company’s Board of Directors, Lenders and Family meetings. Responsible for the accuracy, preparation & analysis of all monthly financial reports & analyses.
- Drive the company’s capital forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes in partnership with the business lead and the FP&A Directors. Review & prepare materials for Company’s monthly Capital Committee meeting. Collaborate with key business partners on preparing monthly presentations and consolidating the quarterly rolling Capital forecasts.
- Provide strategic decision support to drive business performance. This includes leading special projects across the company, analyzing financial statements (i.e. Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow), and conducting competitor benchmarking.
- May assist Corporate Accounting in the monthly and year-end close processes. Provide support for Treasury-related activity, including Credit Facility and analysis of capital structure & debt restructuring.
- Collaborate with IT and business partners to automate corporate reports and implement digital finance executive dashboards.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis for senior management whenever necessary, ensuring tight deadlines are always met.
- Assist other Directors & VP with business process re-engineering activities as needed. Assist with the growth & development of other team members.
Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance/business related field) plus 10+ years of finance/accounting experience or business-related financial analysis experience, with working knowledge of financial and accounting principles. Our ideal candidate will have/be:

Experience Preferred

- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel as well as the ability and eagerness to learn software applications (i.e. SAP, Hyperion Essbase, Power BI).
- Proactively drive changes and continuously improve work processes.
- Experience in protein, consumer products or foods-related industries is a plus.
- This person has day to day decision-making authority to resolve issues and problems as they occur.
- Extraordinary issues and problems will be discussed and resolved on a collaborative basis with his/her supervisor.
