Feed Mill Lead (Nightshift)

Summary

The purpose of a Feed Mill Night Lead is to provide proper operation, maintenance, and oversight of feed manufacturing during the night hours. In doing so the responsibilities will involve direct interaction with all departments of the company that are associated with our feed manufacturing and the delivery process, including feed manufacturing, and dispatch. The FM night Lead is responsible for providing the information necessary to ensure our feed meets all requirements for FDA, USDA, and Perdue Quality Control standards.

This position has a target wage of $18.00 - $27.00 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain feed manufacturing operations.    
• Perform maintenance on equipment when needed and call maintenance support when required.    
• Assist operators with ingredient flow issues and unloading ingredients when needed.    
• Perform required feed and ingredient tests to ensure feed and ingredients meet Quality Control standards.    
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checks on assigned housekeeping areas.    
• Perform monthly checks on fire extinguishers.    
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.    
• Will be required to fill in for Batching, Pelleting, and Dispatch when needed.    
• Act as a liaison to inform management of feed manufacturing operations and report all deficiencies to management.     

Minimum Education

• High School or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

• 2 -4 years experience in customer service, preferably in transportation. 
• Strong organizational and time management skills. 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
• Strong systems aptitude and must be proficient in Microssoft Office applications with an emphasis in Outlook, Word and Excel. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Understanding of transportation operations and supply chain management.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Exposed to climate controlled office and outside weather conditions, a significant amount of air born dust.
• Ability to remain stationary for period of up to 2 hours during a normal shift.
• Must be able to climb truck ladders and swing a 5 lb hammer.
• When in a plant environment:
• Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
• May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
• May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
• May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
• Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
