Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Accountant. The Senior Cost Accountant provides accounting support to our Pasture Bird Business. This position will be responsible for monthly closing activities and weekly and monthly reconciliations related to Pasture Bird accounting transactional activity. Also, this position will provide Weekly and Monthly analysis related to Pasture Bird income statement.

The salary range for this position is $73,000 - $109,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Perform assigned normal routine daily, weekly, or monthly reporting and reconciliations.

2. Perform monthly financial closing functions in accordance with company accounting calendar.

3. Identify areas where there are opportunities to improve Accounting controls and procedures.

4. Participate in the preparation of annual Op-plan and Quarterly Operating Forecasts for assigned areas of responsibility.

5. Maintain an effective structure of reporting, ensuring the integrity of the financial results. Identify, provide timely communication, and correct weaknesses.

6. Ad Hoc reporting and analysis as requested.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelors in Finance or Accounting plus 5 – 6 years related work experience.

Must have significant proficiency in Excel.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED: CPA or CMA or MBA, Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods or Foods Products Industry

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
Work activity is primarily in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
