Summary

The Senior Manager of Foodservice Fresh Product directs all aspects of Foodservice Fresh Chicken product development, sales and marketing for the Distribution channel, including responsibility for pricing, profitability, product development and channel sales strategy development, working closely and collaboratively with Sales & Marketing leadership. Success will be judged by ability to meet specific objectives related to growth in sales, new products, and profitability while being consistent with the Company’s mission, values and quality policy.

 

This position is based in Salisbury, MD at Corporate Headquarters.  A full relocation package is available for eligible candidates.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and implementation of annual business plans, including but not limited to product assortment, branding, pricing, distribution and operator support elements essential to maintaining and growing the fresh chicken business in Foodservice.
  • Maintain strong market knowledge to support development of annual sales plan. Responsible for achieving overall P & L objectives as well as development, management and execution of all related pricing objectives and communication mechanisms.
  • Works with the Small Bird Profit Management Team and Supply Planning to align Foodservice Distribution goals & objectives with those of the affected production facilities and whole bird equivalent mix management.
  • Provides relevant and effective resources to the sales team to assist in their ability to achieve the annual Operating Plans for volume and profitability.
  • Responsible for overseeing and tracking product quality complaints and related issues to insure sales maintains the confidence to sell the products and that they are consistently produced to the agreed to quality specifications.
  • Collaborates with the Customer Service and Logistics teams to align Foodservice Distribution goals & objectives with those interacting on a daily basis with our direct distribution customers.
  • Completes all activities from individual performance development plan.

Minimum Education and Experience

 

REQUIRED:  Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business, plus 5 to 8 years related work experience.  Emphasis in the following areas is important: Fresh chicken or other protein, Foodservice channel sales & marketing, Distribution logistics knowledge and insight, Corporate Member Groups knowledge, strong analytical skills, strategic thinking and effective project management. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, etc. plus the ability to understand and use syndicated and shipment data. 

 

 

PREFERRED: MBA a plus. Knowledge of fresh CVP chicken and Foodservice Sales industry experience also a plus.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which metal and plastic grating surfaces.  May be exposed to temperatures of 28  degree to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.  May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.  May be exposed to noise ranged of 50 db to 100 db.  May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.  Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job a s directed by the Company.
