Summary

Responsible for daily optimization of and communication with the company's transportations’ dedicated carriers

 

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Reviews daily dedicated routing to optimize the dedicated fleets and reduces cost.

Liaison between corporate and carrier’s dispatch.

Reviews and approves out of route and empty movements.

Reviews and approves weekly dedicated billing and provide weekly reports to accounting and management.

Provides carriers weekly service score cards.

Conducts weekly service meetings with each dedicated carrier to review service and KPIs.

Conducts monthly reviews of all dedicated lanes and compares against lane analysis.

Supports strategic direction of the department and company

Minimum Education

High school graduate.  College degree in a related field preferred.  Experience may substitute for education.

Experience Requirements

4 plus years experience in transportation and knowledge of DOT regulations.  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.  Strong systems aptitude and must be proficient to Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis in Outlook, Word and Excel.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.  May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.

May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.  May need to climb ladders.
