Summary
We are recruiting for an End User Computing Technician. The purpose of the role is to maintain and improve the reliability ,consistency, and quality of computer services to the end-user using cost-effective technologies and innovative maintenance and tuning techniques. Install PCs (Physical and Virtual) and related hardware. Investigate hardware and software problems and performs system hardware and communication connection repairs. Perform basic diagnostic testing. Train Tier 1 staff to improve First Call Resolution (FCR). Work to automate processes wherever possible.
This position has a target wage of $24.00 - $36.00 per hour, based on shift, experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance). Overtime may be available..

This is an onsite role.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that the objectives of customer/supplier relationships are met or exceeded for all applications supported by the End User Computing team.
- Image and configure Perdue-issued desktops and laptops according to standards.
- Establish rapport with teammates on the EUC team, including development of Subject Matter Expertise which you share freely among them. Establish credibility and respect within the IT department and among customers through hard work, knowledge, and professionalism.
- Create or maintain accurate documentation as assigned for all systems and projects supported by the End User Computing team.
- Contribute to projects as assigned, ensuring cost, quality, and schedule constraints are appropriately addressed.
- Respond, update and resolve the service tickets assigned for PC and voice operational issues, adhering to the defined customer service response timeframes.
- Communicate and escalate problem issues and resolutions with customer, team and management according to defined standards
- Manage/maintain the hosted virtual desktop infrastructure and related interaction with other IT components (e.g. directory and files services), as well as associated documentation.
Experience and Education Requirements
Education:
2- year degree from accredited college or university, Or 3-4 years of relevant experience
Experience:
Minimum 1 year experience:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) are required to effectively communicate and complete tasks with customers (at different levels) via phone, IM or email.
- Strong ability to logically troubleshoot conditions via documented work steps or procedures, or ability to independently research the solution needed via tools provided.
- Comprehensive knowledge of PC hardware installation, modern Windows desktop operating systems, and ability to diagnose, repair, test, and troubleshoot same Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including MS Outlook
- Understanding and experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies (VMWare Horizon)
- Experience with Thin Client and Zero Client Technologies
- Experience with Windows Server or UNIX platforms a plus.
- Experience with ITSM ticketing system a plus.
PREFERRED:
Industry certifications such as the Microsoft MCSA/MTA, VMWare VCP in Desktop and Mobility
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel, possibly overnight, to any customer area, which could be any Perdue facility or to a remote site for disaster recovery, industry conferences, or training.
- Ability to work in a climate-controlled office environment.
- Ability to work in an open-partitioned cubicle environment or a poultry processing facility.
- Ability to communicate via telephone.
- Ability to come to the Main Office if off-hour support cannot be resolved over the telephone.
- Ability to operate a computer terminal and a workstation, using a keyboard, mouse and reading a monitor.
- Able to remain stationary up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to report on-site for 5 days a week for at least 8 hours per day, and overtime as required
