The Inventory Control Assistant Manager manages daily finished goods inventory and shipping operations. First point of contact for warehouse/cold storage related issues. Ensures orders are transmitted to cold storage, shipped complete, and inventory discrepancies are managed. Analyzes and resolves inventory issues caused by production and/or cold storage.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Manage day to day communication with cold storage facility.
  2. Analyze and resolve issues regarding shipped orders.
  3. Collaborate with production schedulers and cold storage facility to ensure inbound finished goods are received and picked to outbound orders in a timely manner.
  4. Provide download of daily and/or weekly orders to cold storage facility. Communicate order changes to ensure accurate order picking.
  5. Generate and distribute weekly inventory reports.
  6. Compare finished goods inventory on-hand to orders, report shortages to schedulers.
  7. Generate and distribute shortage/sub reports.
  8. Assign temperature recorders and maintain recoded data.
  9. Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies.
  10. Manage advance shipping information (ASNs) process from co-packers and production facilities.
  11. Prepare transfer orders between cooler and freezer accounts.
  12. Prepare missing lot report and attach lots to invoices.
  13. Backup for other division(s) of Perdue Premium Meat Company.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience Requirements

  • 0 - 3+ years of Warehouse/Transportation/Operations experience
  • Experience using EDI
  • Requires strong listening, problem-solving, collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Must exhibit politeness, confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy while dealing with complex problems
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Normal heated/ventilated office environment.  May be occasionally subject to plant conditions (temperatures range from 28 – 50 degrees).  Constant interruptions are normal.  Some travel may be required.
