To provide effective reporting tools to management in order to help assist our Company in achieving top quality products at the lowest cost.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete daily MTech entry on birds harvested at the plant to calculate head and weight brought into the plant.
  • Complete the daily and weekly production.
  • Complete monthly closing items such as journal entries.
  • Enter the contract associates time into an excel spreadsheet for vendor billing and for Perdue payroll upload.
  • Cross train with other accounting associates in order to assist with the back-up of their jobs due to vacations or leaves.
  • Assist with internal auditing by completing physical inventory counts in packaging, ingredients and maintenance.
  • Submit direct invoice payments to Corporate.

Minimum Education & Experience

  • 1 -3 years related work experience in Accounting.
  • Must have excellent computer skills in Excel and Word.
  • Requires good oral and written communications skills; good planning and problem solving.

Education & Experience Preferred

  • Associate Degree in Accounting.
  • Experience in manufacturing; cost accounting, SAP and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Further education or certification within the accounting field.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. Work activity requires bending and climbing. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
